Leaders, I-Messages, and Detective!

In class we read a book titled, If I Ran for President by Catherine Stier.  The students were challenged to think about what traits they have that would make them a good leader.  The students wrote a piece either encouraging others to consider them for our class representative or to share why they think they are a good leader.  I don't know about you, but I see some future leaders here!

While everyone is a leader in our class, we elected our two representatives.  Congratulations to Christian and Lila!

We have done a lot of talk during our morning meetings about using I-messages when our feelings are hurt.  I feel...when...Please...
On Friday, we did an experiment with what happens when you hold your frustrations inside.  We all agreed that it is better to communicate than hold everything in!  Take a look at our experiment...

This week we are finishing our mystery unit.  We were fortunate to have Detective Wolf come in and tell us all about his job as a detective.

In social studies, the students are working diligently to finish their PowerPoint presentations.  They have had so much fun learning to add transitions, animations, and sounds.  This has been a great experience in teamwork for the class.  I can't wait for them to present what they have created.
