I'm sure you all heard about a friendly little bet that was made in our class regarding the Patriots and the Eagles. Lincoln was so sure that Cameron would be the one wearing the Patriots jersey to class. Today, Lincoln has been a great sport and has worn the winning jersey. Don't you think he looks good in green?
Last week we finished our read aloud, Because of Winn Dixie. At the end of the story, the main character, Opal, says that while she was lonely at the beginning of the story, all of the experiences she faced helped to fill her heart with joy. This was such a powerful theme in the story. In fact, when asking the students what they think Opal learned in the story, one student said, "Opal learned that you should care more about the things you have than the things you had."
To build off of this powerful moment, the students wrote what makes their heart full. I hope you enjoy reading these...
In social studies, the students worked in teams to practice the landform vocabulary we have been learning about.
