State Reports, Easter Meal, and Grandparents'/Special Friends' Day!

The students are working hard on their state report research!  They are finishing up the last section of their research focusing on things to see and do in their state.  They have worked diligently to read, combine information from more than one source, and add excitement to their writing to make sure people want to visit the attractions in their state.  I can't wait for you to see the finished products!

The students did such a nice job preparing the Easter Meal for Paul's Place this morning.  Wow, we have some future chefs in this class!  They did a phenomenal job working together.  A huge thank you to Cameron's mom and Richard's mom for helping today.  Thanks also to everyone for sending in supplies for the casserole and cupcakes.  Enjoy these pictures taken by the students...
 Adding noodles to the casserole.
Adding the tuna.  It never smells great when you open the can!

 Mushroom Soup!

 Onions.
 Celery.
Add some milk and mix together.

The favorite part of making the casserole was smashing the chips to put on top.

Decorating cupcakes (and licking the icing after decorating!)

Last week we celebrated Grandparents/Special Friends' day.  Hopefully you heard what a great time we had in our class!  The students introduced themselves, wrote a poem with their visitor, and played a fun game of Kahoot to review what they have learned about Maryland.  You have to check out this game.  We may have had some very competitive visitors!  Don't worry- we did not have any tears!
